Dole Global Campaign Continues

COLSIBA, the IUF, EUORBAN, USLEAP and others continue to support an international campaign against Dole that was launched in 2006 demanding that Dole respect worker rights. In March, 2007, Dole signed a tentative agreement with Costa Rican banana unions pledging to ensure respect for worker rights. COLSIBA and the Costa Rican unions made clear, however, that the Costa Rican agreement was insufficient to suspend the global campaign.

Dole has long been considered public enemy number one by the banana unions. Copies of the primary campaign document, Dole, Behind the Smokescreen, are available upon request from USLEAP (for $5 to cover postage and handling). The document is also available on the USLEAP website.
